What's the best way to apply pressed powder foundation?

Specifically I'm talking about MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation. I use a large brush (kind of like a kabuki brush). Should I be buffing the product into the skin using circular motions, or do I just lightly sweep it over my face as if I was using a loose powder? Any tips would be great! What's the best way to apply pressed powder foundation?
Are you using both Fix powder and Fix foundation together? The Fix powder is supposed to be used as foundation alone. If you use the liquid Fix you should use the Select Sheer powder with it. I just sweep it across my face tho. What's the best way to apply pressed powder foundation?
brushing motion as it evenly distributes the powder.you should put it on like you do with blusher.
If buff it in hard it circular motions using a Kabuki Brush.
I just brush it over my face as if it were a loose powder.

What is the difference between bronzer and pressed powder?

do you use them @ the same time or seperatly? pros, cons, ect. Also, what is the difference between concealer and cover up? thanks always! What is the difference between bronzer and pressed powder?
Bronzer gives you a flush of color, and it's kind of like blush, only it's more natural, not pink or anything. You apply it where the sun should hit your face (cheeks, forehead, etc.) You can use it with pressed powder, but it doesn't matter, and most bronzers come in pressed powder form.

Concealer is used for spot treatment and cover up is used all over your face for hiding blemishes. Apply concealer first and you'll need less cover-up.What is the difference between bronzer and pressed powder?
Bronzer is a powder that is meant to give you a sun-kissed look. You use it after you put on all your makeup. You can apply it with a large powder brush across your nose - cheeks - even on your chest. Basically anywhere you want to look tanner.

Pressed powder is what you put over you foundation to set your makeup or what girls use thru out the day to absorb oil. Yes these two are used seperately. Both are good but for different reasons.

Concealer and coverup are the same things.
Bronzers can come in compressed powder form, and compressed powder is exactly what it sounds like: it is powder that is tightly compressed. Bronzer can come in compressed powder, loose powder, and lotion forms. All of these, compressed powder, loose powder, and lotions can come in all different skin tone colors, as well.

And ';cover up'; is just a generic term that can be used interchangeably with concealer and foundation.
you can use them at the same time. The pressed powder covers your acne while the bronzers highlite your face and give it a healthy glow. But don't use the cover up unless you really need it. If you have naturally clear skin, it just makes your face look painted on.

Can I use Johnson's baby powder instead of loose or pressed powder over my make up?

Will it do the same thing? Will it make a difference which one I use?Can I use Johnson's baby powder instead of loose or pressed powder over my make up?
ummm it will make you white. The powder has to match your skin tone. Can I use Johnson's baby powder instead of loose or pressed powder over my make up?
Yes. If you're naturally pale, then baby powder (talc) works well as face powder. Talc is the main ingredient of most face powders anyway, so if they irritate you or dry your skin too much, baby powder will do the same.

Most face powders are too dark for my skin, so I use talc. It doesn't look caked on or fake, but it does dry skin out, so I'd recommend a good moisturizer first and not using it everyday.
it might make you look a little pale :/

and i think its alot finer than loose or pressed powder so it may just sort of come away really easily.

the smell would also annoy me a bit to be honest :)
you face would look cakey, like a vampire or goth.
if your pale as paper hope i helped:)

I dropped my pressed powder compact and it got into the carpet! How can I get it out?!?

I have the flat industrial carpet in my office, and I was touching up my makeup and dropped the compact and it broke up into pieces and got ground into the carpet. Does anyone know how I can get it out?!?!I dropped my pressed powder compact and it got into the carpet! How can I get it out?!?
Vaccuum it well. If it doesn't come out, try a small amount of rubbing alcohol and dab at it with a dry absorbent cloth.I dropped my pressed powder compact and it got into the carpet! How can I get it out?!?
Vacuum well then try the Tide stain removing pen; it works wonders!
I can suggest you use Sellotape to lift the top layer of powder off, then wipe with a sponge and a little dish washing liquid, or even better hair shampoo cleans carpets very well . rinse well.

How do you prefer to apply pressed powder?

I usually use loose powder, I shied away from pressed because of the unnatural look, but it is really convenient and great for traveling [something I do a lot]. Would you recommend a sponge, brush, or cotton balls? I am not sure, but I think the sponge caused me to break out a little on my chin. What size should the brush be? How should I use the cotton balls? Stroke up or down?

Thanks in advance :)How do you prefer to apply pressed powder?
Using a brush is the best way, in my opinion.

Use downward strokes when applying, a medium sized brush would be fine.

Nothing too big or fluffy because then it would just go everywhere. How do you prefer to apply pressed powder?
For me, the sponge-brush they give you with the compact always breaks out my face and makes the lines more noticeable. I prefer a long/loose bristled brush, because it sill gives the same great coverage, while allowing my skin to breathe. :]
I like using a big, fluffy brush. Whenever I use a sponge it looks caky. I've never tried cotton balls, but it doesn't sound like it would work.
Kabuki brush
I don't know the answer of your question. I googled but I couldn't find any clear answer for you. Sorry! Hope others can help you.
I use a kinda fluffy puff/sponge
i would use a big fluffy kabuki brush or a puff
use one of those rlly cool powder puffs..they are fluffy

  • What's the difference between pressed powder and loose powder?

is pressed powder thicker or something? What's the difference between pressed powder and loose powder?
Well, the names kinda tell you what they are. Loose powder is powder that moves freely; like talcum powder. Pressed powder is ';pressed'; into a compact; therefore it doesn't move.

With a loose powder, you can get more onto your brush, puff, or whatever you use to apply powder with. Thus you can get more on your face. With pressed powder, you're able to get less onto your brush or puff. What's the difference between pressed powder and loose powder?
It's not thicker but it is pressed in to a compact and sometimes tends to go on thicker. Loose powder comes in a ';pot'; and has to be brushed one. I like loose powder better because it tends to look more natural and doesn't make my face break out.

pressed powder is pressed together in a compact.

and loose powder is just loose.
Pressed powder is thicker than loose powder.

Loose powder is better for your skin esp if you have oily skin.

What should I wear under my pressed powder?

A clear acne medication, or a blemish-healing concealer, etc.? I'm 14. Please give good suggestions! I break out when I wear JUST powder, so I need something underneath that will help. What should I wear under my pressed powder?
You don't need powder. You need to get some tinted moisturizer and call it a day. Its not heavy, its good for your skin, and it won't make you look old. Trust me.

What is the best brand of pressed powder for a sensitive skin?

I just cured all my acne and i am finding ways to cover the marks using pressed powder or foundation, what is the best in the market? Please help......What is the best brand of pressed powder for a sensitive skin?
use covergirl. anything covergirl will keep your skin looking great. the trublend stuff is amazing at covering things up and keeping your skin nice. so try anything covergirl! hope i helped! What is the best brand of pressed powder for a sensitive skin?
I love using a pressed powder, but you want to avoid any powders that contain talc if you have sensitive skin.

Urban Decay's De-Slick Mattifying powder uses rice powder instead of talc to absorb oil. Blotting papers might also be a better way to set your makeup and keep yourself shine free without irritating your sensitive skin.
I would most defiantely without a doubt recommend Laura Geller make-up for EVERYTHING! Her Balance N Brighten is absoluely the best as is the rest of her makeup. It's loaded with botanicals that are great for the skin and all of her products are oil-free and are designed to correct skin and cover up flaws and WILL NOT break out skin or make acne worse! in fact it really helps acne! go to her website and try to locate her Balance N Brighten. It comes in regular an fair.

What ever you do... DO NOT USE MINERAL MAKEUP!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the absolute best pressed powder foundation?

And what is the best lengthening+separating mascara? What is the absolute best pressed powder foundation?
I'd never been able to wear powder foundation until I discovered Mark Cosmetics Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation. Since I have freckles and sometimes acne to cover, I needed something that would cover evenly and stay put for at least 6 hours. If you're looking for something similar, this is the answer. It has amazingly natural coverage and doesn't feel sticky at all like most liquid foundations can. You can check it out at http://www.mymarkstore.com/clindstrom

I saw that someone else listed the Blu Ray Pressed Powder, which is excellent as well. It provides good, even coverage and stays on for about 6 hours. It all depends on the amount you're willing to spend. Blu Ray goes for about 35 bucks and Mark goes for about 8 bucks. I have both, but only use the Blu Ray for special occasions. As for mascara, it seems that waterproof formulas go on with less clumping and hold curl/length all day. I have two favorites: Cover Girl Lash Blast and Mark Cosmetics Lash Splash. These both have awesome applicators that separate lashes and add incredible length. They also stay put all day - especially good formulas for hot humid weather. Hope this helps you out! What is the absolute best pressed powder foundation?

i don't use powder pressed foundation (sorry) but i can help you out with the mascara. rimmel london glam eyes works pretty good for lengthening and separating even though it's supposed to be a volumizing mascara. the only thing i dislike about this mascara is that you can only apply about 2 or 3 coats or it will get clumpy and crusty and you'll get spiderlashes.

What is the difference between loose powder and pressed powder makeup?

What one is easier and less messy to apply? Which one rinses easier or are they both the same...just wonderingWhat is the difference between loose powder and pressed powder makeup?
Loose powder is exactly that...loose powder, that'll spill everywhere unless you're careful! Pressed powder is the powder all pressed together, so its more ';solid';. Loose powder can be applied with a brush, pressed powder you usually need a little sponge. I like the loose powder better, because you can spread on as much or little as you like, and it stays looking natural - that is, you cant get any streaks or anything because you're just dusting it on. The pressed powder on the other hand is a lot thicker, can clog your pores, and hence lead to bad skin. Also, it can look streaky and patchy unless you apply it very evenly (which is harder to do than with the loose powder). That said, pressed powder can look really good too. its just thicker, you need to sure you wash it all off properly so you dont get clogged pores. Hope all that helps!!What is the difference between loose powder and pressed powder makeup?
Actually, pressed powder makeups are NOT good for your skin. It clogs pores easily and is a great harbor for bacteria.
I use both: loose powder is messy so is best kept at home. To reduce the mess I use a big brush and having dipped it into the powder I tap the brush on the lid to remove the excess before using. This stops the powder going everywhere whilst leaving enough to blot my makeup. Another good reason is that it is much cheaper than pressed powder and you get much more of it in the average pot.

I find pressed powder handy for when I travel or in my handbag to touch up my makeup when I am at work. Some powders are creamier than others, so you need to find one that suits you - obviously creamy ones are more likely to clog, drier ones or those sold as non-comedogenic should clog less so. Also have a supply of powder puffs and change them regularly, or better still buy a travel powder brush in a case. The latter has the advantage in that it will make the powder last longer and is as effective as a puff on your skin.

Finally, there are health concerns about talc which is used in powders. If you have concerns choose one without talc.
lose powder is way easier to apply you should try bare essentials. it fabulous
loose powder is like i.d. bare minerals.. its like a true powder.. kinda like powdered sugar. its more messy to apply, but they both rinse the same. pressed powder is like in those little compacts with the white sponge type thing. the loose powder stuff, especially id bare minerals is much better for your skin.
I love loose powder! It wont clog your pores. Pressed on the other hand does. Loose just sits on top of ur skin removing shine! It rinses of just the same i think or maybe loose cleans easier since they dont add and oils or stuff like so it wont stick into ur pores.

What is a really good pressed powder foundation?

I would prefer a Mineral based make up but it doesn't really matter....Please DO NOT give me suggestions on anything else other than PRESSED powder. I'm looking for something that feels light, silky and gives me coverage. What is a really good pressed powder foundation?

The best one is L'oreal True Match Superblendable Pressed Powder, it gives u polished face, no cakey, it's $10.95 at Walmart, Target or CVS, Walgreen.

For higher price, with $21 you can try MAC select sheer pressed powder, it makes skin look flawless, goes on lightly, sheer and silky.

What's the best way to keep pressed powder eye shadow in good condition?

I just bought some expensive eye shadow, and will probably not use it up for a long time. What are tips/tricks for using and storing that will help it last longer? Also, will storing eyeshadows in compacts/palettes make them dry out, since you're often opening the compact, but not using every shadow?

Thanks! What's the best way to keep pressed powder eye shadow in good condition?
keep all of your expensive pressed powder cosmetic in a air tight container and place a square of tissue inbetween teh lid and the powder. i think that the clean and clear oil absorbing sheets works well, because it absorbs the oil produced by the powder by heat without getting all stickyWhat's the best way to keep pressed powder eye shadow in good condition?
Store the powder eye shadow compact laying FLAT, and put a tissue in between the compact lid and the eye shadow.
Dont carry it in your purse! All my eyeshadows are all messed up.....but hey i still use them
Don't get it wet or leave it in the bathroom while your showering.
just keep them in their own case inside another air tight container and in a cool, dark, dry place (like a drawer). expensive eye shadow is usually very good quality and made with good ingredients so opening the case once a day or so for a few seconds will certainly not ruin the texture or make it crack. :)

  • What is the best way to use your pressed powder when it breaks?

I have a pressed powder compact that was dropped and broken. Now every time I open the compact little chunks go everywhere. When I try to use it, I find it difficult to get it on my make-up brush. Any Suggestions? What is the best way to use your pressed powder when it breaks?
    Break it some more.

Store it in a closeable container.

Use it as a loose powder. *woot* :)What is the best way to use your pressed powder when it breaks?
Even though your compact is broken, you did not lose the quality of the pigment. If I was in that situation, I would place the remaining bits in the middle of a paper towel, close the paper towel, and continue crushing it into a powdery substance. At that point you can use it as a loose sheer powder and just dust it onto your face. Good luck!
I would recomend purchasing another one. If it is split in a few big pieces, then I'm sure that you could manage with that for awhile. If it is shattered, I think that there is no other option than getting another one. You may be able to use the shattered powder at home in the morning, but if you go out, buy another one.
i had the same problem and i turned it into a lose powder foundation...i collected it on a napkin and smashed it until it was really fine (it may take a while) and then i put it into my empty id bare minerals container and used it as a mineral foundatioin.

    GOOD LUCK!!!
    Just don't use water like the first gal told ya, because it will harbor bacteria. I know what I'm talking about. I'm afraid there's not a good way to use it anymore other than make it ';loose'; and wear it with a kabuki brush. You know ';swirl tap off the excess and buff on the face';
You could always finish breaking up and grind the powder into a loose powder. Use with a brush. It just won't travel conveniently like your compact did.
You can chop the whole thing up and use it as loose powder.
Never drop your make up! Some people claim to know how to fix it, but it's never the same. I'm sorry, but you should just buy a new compact.
add a little water to it and press it all back together again and 2morrow it should be working fine =)

What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?

Do they have different purposes and what will they do to your skin? Does on clog your pores more or what? What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?
Lose powder is in a jar, and it's like baby powder feeling.

Pressed powder is usually in a little compact.

They both do the same thing. What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?
    loose powder is messier....

What's the difference between liquid foundation, powder foundation, loose powder, & pressed powder?

I have oliy sink around the t-zone so what kind should i use? What's the difference between liquid foundation, powder foundation, loose powder, %26amp; pressed powder?
    WELL.

liquid foundation is usually best suited for people who have normal or dry skin, since liquids tend to melt off/into pores on people with oilier skin (such as myself). Coverage can be anywhere from sheer to full depending on the brand and the thickness of the liquid, although with liquids and oily skin I find that cakiness always follows after a few hours of wear, unless you are constantly removing the makeup and redoing it lol.

powder foundation is great for oily skin, or combo, and basically gives you a lighter application and is better for withstanding oily skin. Usually they don't give the best coverage, at least in my opinion. A great way around this though is to use a mineral powder foundation, as it gives similar coverage as traditional foundations but without as many harmful effects on oily skin. Brands to check out are Everyday Minerals, Meow Cosmetics, LA Minerals.. I've only tried Everyday Minerals, and find that I LOVE the coverage but without my sunscreen, moisturizer and primer, the makeup shifts a lot on my nose and chin, and now it just gets a bit shiny.

Loose powder and pressed powder are basically powders used to set your foundation. I prefer loose over pressed, although loose is messier.I find that loose powders last longer and are also easier in terms of controlling how much is applied to your face.

For your skin, I would suggest to try out some oil free primers. You could try Smashbox Photofinish Light, and I've also tried Makeup Forever's HD one, although it didn't work well for shine control, just helped with making my makeup not really shift at all. You can also try primers in powder form from online companies like Everyday MInerals or Fyrinnae. I'd personally get a sample kit from Everyday Minerals (gives you 3 foundations and they have 4 different kinds of coverage, and you can choose a concealer and a blush, and you only pay the shipping) and also get a sample of their start to finish powder, either rice or regular one. And also Fyrinnae makes a rice powder primer, so I would say maybe order both, or try one first then if it doesn't work try th eother. Depending on where you live, shipping could take a while. Fyrinnae right now is going to take longer than usual.

Hope this helped somewhat lol. What's the difference between liquid foundation, powder foundation, loose powder, %26amp; pressed powder?
As a professional makeup artist I can highly recommend the latest rave in mineral liquid foundations. Bee Luscious Mineral Photo Touch Foundation and bee luscious liquid minerals are the most amazing foundations you can use. Google bee luscious and be amazed.

This product gives you the best of all worlds a smooth liquid with even application that turns to powdery finish.

Powders are great for added coverage and to mattify but with the two products I mentioned its all in one or you can add the matching pressed powder for added coverage and SPF.

What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?

I currently used foundation and pressed powder. What's the difference between loose and pressed though? Can you use foundation with loose, does loose look unnatural, what? What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?
Loose just shows up more and reduces shine even more than pressed powder. i believe it has better coverage too (in my opinion) . I use loose over my foundation when i get ready in the morning, then during the course of the day if my face gets shiny i just put pressed powder on because it's a hassle to carry the loose powder around, it will get everywhere and make a mess.. pressed powder comes in a handy little compact with a mirror as well. What's the difference between loose and pressed powder?
the biggest differences are portability and application.

pressed powders are easy to travel with. loose are better left at home.

pressed powders are usually applied with a sponge. this gives a slightly heavier coverage than loose powders applied with a brush or puff.

as long as you don't apply too much, they really both give about the same effect.
Nothing other than the form. Pressed powder comes in a compact and tuft to apply it with and you press it on after you have applied your liquid foundation or on your bare skin; depending upon your preference. Loose powder is applied with a brush or puff and then swept down over the face and lightly tapped on.

Pressed powder is more convenient to carry around with you for touch ups during the day.
i don't see a difference in the ay they look at all. pressed powder is cleaner and doesn't get all over the place.
pressed powder is basically a compact. the powder is compressed into a tin. a good example is covergirl

loose powder is powder in a plastic container that is not in any shape or form. a good example is bare escentuals

yes, you can use foundation with loose powder.

if you rub the loose powder really well into your skin, it does not look unnatural. i prefer loose powder because pressed powder can break easily!
The only thing I have to add is that some pressed powders will ';cake'; on your foundation. I only use pressed powder for touch ups when I'm out and about.
I use foundation and loose ,it looks smoother because you have more control on how much you use ,I also carry a compact of pressed powder in my purse for touch ups during the day.Barb w,
Pressed powder is more packed in, and sometimes easier or less messy to apply. Loose powder is more dusty and kinda messy.

Loose usually looks pretty natural, but it really depends what kind of loose powder you use.

What's the difference between foundation, pressed powder and loose powder?

first of all they are all in the same makeup range as a foundation coverage

lots of people use them together, the liquid foundation to smooth out the skin, and the powder to dry up the oil in the skin but still make the face more evened out

foundation is liquid and is good if you don't have a perfect complexion

because it helps to even out the skin

-- so if you have bumpy skin i would recommend this

loose powder and pressed powder are the same really

loose powder is if you need more coverage

but i always find that it goes everywhere

pressed powder is in a pallet already stuck together (like blusher)

i prefer this as it is less messy and you never really can put too much on.

for oily skin i would not use foundation as it sometimes enhances the oil well that's what i find

pressed powder or loose powder is your best bet as it helps to dry out the oil

some brands of foundations/powders are designed for oily skinWhat's the difference between foundation, pressed powder and loose powder?
    yes it's true Report Abuse
What's the difference between foundation, pressed powder and loose powder?
foundation - is used to cover blemeshies and even skin tone. it is liquid and gives the most coverage out ot the three. it is very important that u get thr right colour 4 u though or u'll look orange or white! it goota look natural as though its not der really!

pressed power - is a powder which is in a solid block, it can be used on its own or over foundation to help it staying power

loose powder - is wot its called, it a powder n it loose unlike pressed powder, it like consistencey of baby powder. this is used on top of oundation to help it stay put, or used alone to saok up access oil on the face - it stops shine! however it can be messy!
    Difference is the moisture content.
foundation is your first layer of make-up. Powder goes over the top. If it's loose it gets everywhere, if it's pressed it doesn't.

Go look in your mum's make-up bag, or look at the make-up counters in a department store.
Pressed powder and loose powder are the same thing really, you just get better coverage with loose powder.

Foundation normally comes in liquid form (I use both foundation and powder).
    Foundation ...

This can be liquid or mousse, get a mousse one. I recommend Number 17 from boots, very good price! Go into the shop and test it on the back of your hand to find a good skin match.

Over the top put some pressed powder. This helps makes your skin look nice and even. Natural collection is a fair price, also found in boots.

    Good luck
    FOundation is liquid.

Pressed power is hard in a compact case.

Loose powder is kind of the consistancy of baby powder.
the compact was created for convenience, it is a similar substance to powder but compacted in an easy to carry case as it were

If you have super oily skin don't buy a powder that is pressed in a compact. It contains more oils than the loose powders. I have the MAC Blot Powder in loose and it works wonders. I recommend it. It definitely does absorb oils. I also do recommend blotting sheets, you can get them at any store. They are more efficient.
The best pressed powder is Covergirl pressed powder. It lasts all day and feels great on my skin! I also really like maybelline mineral power loose powder. It is awesome! I'm not sure if these products are available in Austrilian stores, though.

Physician's Formula pressed powder. It's a whole bunch of little color squares and it looks like it'll be impossible to use, but it's actually a perfect blend of color. That was my favorite powder ever until I graduated to department store makeup, lol.

What is the difference between ';pressed powder'; and ';pressed foundation';?

I was looking at these two different types of makeup tonight and just wondering what the difference was? I don't really like foundation so I just got powder instead. What is the difference between ';pressed powder'; and ';pressed foundation';?
pressed foundation is a little heavier, to give you more coverage. What is the difference between ';pressed powder'; and ';pressed foundation';?
Mostly, pressed powder is foundation and serves the same purpose. However, many people use foundation as the base and pressed powder over the foundaton to give a smooth and shiny finish. It works like a charm. Pressed powder can also be used to touch up after the makeup is done.

  • Tips for using pressed powder to cover up acne?

I have moderate acne and am sick of it showing. I just had a hormonal flare up and tomorrow want to cover my acne up a bit with pressed powder. I am not a makeup (I wear eyeline and occasionally mascara but that's it) wearer, so any tips for using powder to conceal acne? Any tips for blending powder? Also, should powder be used just on your cheeks or on the forehead and chin, too? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!Tips for using pressed powder to cover up acne?
Honestly, powder is not the best choice to use for covering up acne, but if that is all you have, then we will make it work! (I can feel your pain re: hormonal flare up, too) (smile).

The best thing for you to use would be a creamy/liquid concealor or foundation, then set with powder. But, when using a powder to cover up . . .

Use a small headed brush and dip it in your powder. Tap it directly on your blemish. This step has two benefits: it will give a more concentrated coverage, and also keep things as sanitary as possible. You do not want to keep using your puff that comes with your compact because you will be putting bacteria in the sponge and the powder, and you will never get rid of your acne that way.

Next, set your entire face with a light dusting of powder using a large brush, or the powder puff that comes with your compact.

When just using powder as a setting powder, I would dust it where you are oily, usually that would be your t-zone area (concentrating on your forehead, nose, chin and a bit on your cheeks).

Keep your brushes and puffs clean, and wash your face every night.

Good luck!Tips for using pressed powder to cover up acne?
To cover blemishes or acne is possible with great effect, but be careful to over do it, start by cleansing, and using a light moisturiser, let the moisturiser sit for 5 min. at least, apply a foundation over your entire face, then use cover stick or a cover up cream on the blemished areas, blend in well with your finger, stand back from the mirror and have a look, you should not be able to see any colour variations, get a very light weight powder and dust over the entire face, stand back and have a another look, if your skin blemishes cannot be seen you have done a great job, the reason I say stand back and look at your skin, is because this is how other people will see you, we all look to closely at ourselves, you will look great.
    Hi,

I used to have really bad acne right from my teenage years . It was pretty embarassing to go to college with my acne patched face and I was desperate to get rid of it somehow. I took plenty of efforts to keep my face clean all the time and also ate nutritious food and drank lots of water. None of it helped though. I then recently read an article about a lady who got rid of her acne completely using a particular acne product. I tried it and it worked really well. Within 4 weeks my acne was hardly visible. Really good stuff. You can read more about the lady鈥檚 article at the link below.

    http://acnevanish.wordpress.com/
a powder will only make it look cakey, so i would not use it. go for a liquid concealer instead. it blends in better. use a big brush and use powder all over. not too much though

How do you turn loose powder eyeshadow into a pressed powder?

I dint think there is a way. You can mix it with Vaseline and make a cream eyeshadow but I think that would be your only option! How do you turn loose powder eyeshadow into a pressed powder?

have fun hope i helped :]
if you mix lotion or moisturizer with it then it can turn into either a pressed powder or a liquid form.
I'm prettty sure there's no way to do that.. but what you can do is either mix a little water in with the loose powder eye shadows so they're creamy when you apply them instead of powdery... or you need to buy an eyeshadow primer because it helps any eyeshadows adhere to your eyelid instead of falling onto your face. Also, primers help the eyeshadow show up bolder and last alll day without creasing. Oh and I recommend Urban Decay Primer Potion (from Sephora).. best primer ever.

    hope this helpss.
by adding some natual oils or creams to it.
Have you tried using a primer at all? it sounds to me like this would solve your problem.

If that doesn't give the desired resilts, mix with vaseline as the others mentioned.

What is the difference between tinted pressed powder and powder foundation?

Tinted pressed powder is intended to go over your foundation to help set it, and to reapply during the day if you get a bit shiny. Or maybe if you have good skin already, just use a bit of that just to even out your skin tone, instead of using a heavier coverage foundation. Powder foundation has more pigment in the powder so you don't have to wear powder and foundation both.

To be honest with you, unless you are using a high quality, talc-free powder foundation, I don't recommend it, it tends to apply unevenly and just generally doesn't look that great. What is the difference between tinted pressed powder and powder foundation?
its either pressed or loose powder foundation!! pressed powder IS a type of powder foundation, youre asking a silly question really, as it doesnt actually make sense!

xxxWhat is the difference between tinted pressed powder and powder foundation?
tinted has a color - sort of like a bronzer because it has no coverage

regular powder- has the most coverage

so i suggest to use both

    regular and then the tinted
Well tinted pressed powder is crap really, you get no coverage, just a light light tan and is hard to apply. Where as with powder foundation, you get full coverage and it is easy application. Just a bit dry on the skin :)

    HELP!BABY POWDEr TALCUM!?

    I have a johnson's baby powder..

It saids they have high quality talc...

Is dat dangerous 2 wear on face..

I need 2 wear dat so my face won't look very oily and shiny..HELP!BABY POWDEr TALCUM!?
If you wear that, it'll make your skin look more oily and shiny. And who wears the combo?HELP!BABY POWDEr TALCUM!?
i guess if its ok to use on a baby,it should be ok for you.also it smells really nice!
I have horribly oily skin myself. PLEASE DON';T PUT THAT ON YOUR FACE!!!!! Go to a beauty supply store(like Sally's) and purchase oil blotting sheets and an oil absorbing powder. It is fairly cheap, and made for your face. I can't make it through the humid Arkansas summers without it! Try blotting the oil before you apply your make-up and then throughout the day as needed. The talc WILL clog your pores and cause even more problems. And I'm sure if you are as oily as me then this will sound as stupid as it did to me but USE A MOISTURIZER!!!! Your oil gland work overtime producing oil when it doesn't have that moisture. I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, it's oil free.
use oil blotting sheets. clean and clear has one. try clinique's products for oily skin / combination skin. they have face wash, toners and moisturizers and oil control products for different skin types. using talc powders may clog pores and may later on cause break outs. it's safe for babies, because they have really fine pores and less or even non-oily skin.
you need to use oil blotting sheets. they have the ones by clean and clear which are about 5 dollars. or you can do it the economically cheap way and that is, go into the public restrooms and you know those toilet seat covers they provide for sanitary reasons, well take one that is not been used of course and tear it into small pieces, viola instant oil blotters for free. you can also buy a packet of the toilet seat covers at a drugstore for about 1 dollar so it also ends up being way cheaper than buying the clean and clear ones.

  • What is the difference between baby powder to a ordinary talcum powder?

-i know it is mild than the talcum powder but what are the other qualities? What is the difference between baby powder to a ordinary talcum powder?
Talc is a mineral, magnesium sulfate originally used in lanterns because in formed strings and absorbed moisture, It is not good for for babies. No powder should be used on babies because it can easily get into their lungs. My baby is 33 and I went with my mother's old remedy of corn starch because it absorbs moisture better than any powder, it's natural, and not harmful. Only use it on the baby's bottom though, It also prevents diaper rash better than any powder will. That's just my opinion and it worked for all my babies. Best advice you can get is probably from your grandmother. Some of the oldest remedies or usages are the best ones now. What is the difference between baby powder to a ordinary talcum powder?
Baby powder is not good for babies.

It can affect the baby's respiratory system and talcum powder may be linked to some forms of cancer.

    Don't use it!
The intensity of the fragrance is less in baby powder to protect the tender nostrills of the child: the aroma is stronger in talcum powder other than baby powder!
Talcum powder is primarily made up of talc which is harmful to baby's lungs when it is inhaled (even worse lots of talc is contaminated with asbestos fibers). Most baby powders these days are made up of mostly corn starch which is much less harmful when inhaled...although you should still be careful to not make a cloud of powder when using it.
the perfumes used are of suoerior quality and therfor less prone to allergy.
use ordinary corn starch. the only difference in baby powder is the smell. talc is a bad chemical.
If you going to use baby powder make sure it's the kind that has no talc in it. Different companies do put out powders that are made out of corn starch. These are healthier and I have found it cures diaper rash a lot quicker, even more than the creams, also! Good luck!
Baby powder wines to much! Go with the talcum power. It'smuch more agreeable.
All come in talc or starch.

Please tell me the difference between loose powder talcum powder and face powder.?

Talcum powder is a white loose substance used all over your body, mostly after a bath or shower, to reduce moisture. Face powder and loose powder are used for the same purpose in addition to evening out your skin tone, but on your face only. One is supplied as a loose, finely ground substance, the other as a formed product in a hard compact. Please tell me the difference between loose powder talcum powder and face powder.?
fragrance.....and quality of the grind..face powder is a finer grind. Please tell me the difference between loose powder talcum powder and face powder.?
Talc is generally for the body - to reduce moisture and friction and leave a fragrance. Face powder creates a matte finish, creates a nice canvas to apply cheek color and reduces shine. It also may have color, which talc doesn't.
loose powder, usually talcum is used on you r body and face powder is usually in a compact or loose in a brush applicator
I did a researched about it but cannot copy and paste it here so please just click this site.

The forests that tigers depend on are the same forests that provide water security for millions of people. The deforestation from mining leads to soil erosion. Quarries suck up water and deplete the water table, which deprives local farmers of water for irrigation and working conditions in the quarries are poor.

';how talcum powder is manufactured ';?

    Talc is a mineral...

on the hardness scale a 1/10 where as a diamond is a 10/10

as for how can be made...according to Wikipedia.......

    ';Formation

Talc is a metamorphic mineral resulting from the metamorphism of magnesian minerals such as pyroxene, amphibole, olivine and other similar minerals in the presence of carbon dioxide and water. This is known as talc carbonation and produces a suite of rocks known as talc carbonates.

    Talc is primarily formed via carbonation of serpentine, via the following reaction;

    Serpentine + Carbon Dioxide 鈫?Talc + Magnesite + Water

    Talc can also be formed via a reaction between dolomite and silica, which is typical of skarnification of dolomites via silica flooding in contact metamorphic aureoles;

    Dolomite + Silica + Water 鈫?Talc + Calcite + Carbon Dioxide

Talc can also be formed from magnesian chlorite and quartz in blueschist and eclogite metamorphism via the following reaction:

    Chlorite + Quartz 鈫?Kyanite + Talc + H2O

In this reaction, the ratio of talc and kyanite is dependant on aluminium content with more aluminous rocks favoring production of kyanite. This is typically associated with high-pressure, low-temperature minerals such as phengite, garnet, glaucophane within the lower blueschist facies. Such rocks are typically white, friable, and fibrous, and are known as whiteschist';';how talcum powder is manufactured ';?

  • Is talcum powder ok to use on my 8 month old daughter?

I have an 8 month old daughter who is starting to get a bit of nappy rash from teething. I want to try and keep the area dry but im scared the powder will be bad for her lungs so i dont know what else to do. Any suggestions would be great!!!Is talcum powder ok to use on my 8 month old daughter?
Use rash cream, I like Aveeno...lather it on her little booty and keep her diaper off of her so she can air out a bit!!!Is talcum powder ok to use on my 8 month old daughter?
A mid wife told me once talc can or is be linked to cervical cancer in girls. I stay away from it just in case. But try using vaseline or sudocrem and letting her little bottom for a little while.
talcum powder has been linked with ovarian cancer and lung cancer, it isn't safe.

If you feel you need to use a powder use corn starch powder, or if you cant find any use corn flour from the pantry.

to help with the nappy rash try giving her some nappy free time, lay her on a towel or lay a few on the floor so she can roll around and let her go for it with out a nappy on, the air wil do wonders for her rash. also try some paw paw cream it is fabulous for almost everything.

Teething can be nasty, just change her frequently and allow her nappy area to get fresh air for about an hour a day, you'll really notice the difference.

    Hope this heps.
Never use powder. It can make the rash worse, or cause a yeast infection. It also can lead to respiratory distress, as you've mentioned. I wouldn't put anything on the rash except for water, and dry it well. Chemical creams aren't going to help the problem as teething rashes will come and go. Changing the diaper more often or letting her bum out in the open air will help. Rash cream may or may not help; it never helped us. I highly recommend cloth diapers if you have persistent rash problems (related to teething or otherwise). My favorite brand is Swaddlebees and I highly recommend them - they also have an outlet store on their website if you would be interested in trying their diapers. Please do check out Kelly's Closet below for heaps of info on rashes, cloth diaper benefits, and more. One of my favorite websites!

It has been known for many years that Talcum Powder is carcinogenic. In the UK, it has been particularly stressed especially by the Care Standards commission who ruled about 10 years ago that it should not be used in 'Care'. However you use talcum powder (arm pits, face, all over the body, inguinal areas etc ), it seems to be sucked up by the female genital system and cause cancer of the ovaries. Avoid it!Talcum powder users please read?
O my god,i have been using talc all my life, especially in unwear and on my kids when they were babies,i love the smell of it,sorry but i don,y know an alternative to this.this has shocked me.thanks for the info.
i pour loads on my skin every night
Thanks for the info. I use it daily but won't be using it from now on. I don't use deodorants as they have been blamed for causing cancer in lymph glands. I guess we'll just have to wash oftener each day and carry some wipes around when we're out.
Talc-free cornstarch products are available from Johnson %26amp; Johnson's, Origins, and a bunch of others, as an alternative.

    Do fleas like talcum powder?

Yes, talcum powder won't do anything to them except make them smell nice.Do fleas like talcum powder?
I'm sure fleas love talcum powder because it's not flea powder. But if you're thinking of putting it on your cat, your cat will definitely not like it. You shouldn't put any human products on your animals, they can be poisonous to them and make them sick or irritate their skin and even cause death. I have personally seen all of these things happen to either dogs or cats, with relatives and friends. Animals are very sensitive and should only have products used on them developed especially for them :)Do fleas like talcum powder?
They like flea powder, that's why it is called ';Flea Powder'; so give them a good dose of that.
    They love it. (:
