  • About talcum powder??

does applying talcum powder on ur underarms make them black(in the long run)....

also...can i apply talcum powder on my face..(i have acne problem)About talcum powder??
applying talcum powder on ur underarms wouldn't make them black in the long run...................... don't worry...........

but apply sandal wood powder instead of talcum powder on ur face if u have acne problemAbout talcum powder??
I鈥檓 not sure that it would make them black鈥?br>

Talcum Powder has an extreme drying effect 鈥?I put it in my hair to make it appear cleaner and it works a treat.

I don鈥檛 think it is a good idea to put it on your face if you have acne. You need to find a balance in your skin, many people think that when they get spots they need to put really harsh products on there skin to make it improve.

Although this isnt the case, the skin needs moisture. If you create a skin care programme鈥?Cleanse, tone, moisturize twice daily. Exfoliate weekly and don鈥檛 use any harsh products on the skin.

If you have acne, drying the skin too much will cause you to have scars, which you will not want later on in life.

The other option is to go to the doctors and get some prescribed medication for it and see if it improves.

    Hope this helps
no is doesn't affect anything...if u r using any hair removal cream for under arms then it will become black...for long time...i had the same prob...but wht i did...i stop using hair removal cream..both on hand,legs,underarms...

i have started using hot wax...for underarms go2 the parlor...then after that don't use deo or powder on that day...the next day before taking bath take a piece of lemon and rub it on underarms..and keep it for atleast20min....then use soap.

use soap like detol, pears, it is good...but don't use fairness soap,or liril, its very very bad...wht it does it becomes a layer and ultimately it becomes black...

use lemon everyday..it really helps...it worked for me...

for pimple use Himalaya neem face pack..and make a paste of neem and raw turmeric.and use it on pimple and keep it for 20min....then wash it...try to not use any cream over pimple...sp. that Clearasil or something like that....eat neem, karela(bitter gourd)...atleast 3times in a week...and eat less oil, spicy food.try to avoid going direct sunlight...if it is necessary..use umbrella..
tacum powder is waste!!!DON'T USE...USE CREM OR OIL!!!
no...talcum powder cant make under arms black....

y do u want to apply it on ur face ???? thats stupid....

use adapele gel on ur face and pimple wuld vanish soon

    Talcum Powder.. Lol :P?

I read in a book that if you sprinkle a little talcum powder between your bed sheets before you go to bed, it makes them smell nice?

    True?

Has anybdy tried it?Talcum Powder.. Lol :P?
If you use just a tiny bit, I'm sure it will. It will also help to make your skin a little more soft and fresh in the morning I would think. Just don't use too much or you will have annoying white dust over everything.

I've never tried it, but I know lots of older women that powder their bodies before sleeping.

I think if you wash your sheets when they get dirty or at least every 2 weeks you will be fine. The fresh smell of detergent stays in them the first few days, and it will be time for washing before they start to smell stale or like a body.Talcum Powder.. Lol :P?
Well I suppose anything that had a smell would make your sheets smell of that substance but you could add a bit fabric conditioner in the wash if you want them to smell nice and they'll be soft.

Talcum powder is just dusty and would probably constrict your breathing and make a mess of mattress, floor, pyjamas etc..
    Hi:

Yes its true but just a bit.

You can sprinkle them in your drawers where you put your under garments. Sprinkle power inside your running shoes is good as well.

Adding baby power to your skin smells nice as well.

    Good Luck
Don't do it unless you feel like cleaning it up. If you want a nice smell, get some scented washing detergent and use it when you wash them.
You will get a very dusty bedroom, better to use some dried lavender between laundered items in the airing cupboard.
You can buy scented talcum powder. That's probably what the book meant, but it would just make a mess!!
Nonsense. It just makes a mess.
Never tried it, but I imagine it would...

    TALCUM POWDER/ANTI PERSPIRANT?

Can talcum powder stop excess sweating, and should I put it after my anti-perspirant (mitchum roll on) or before?TALCUM POWDER/ANTI PERSPIRANT?
the talc will absorb any sweat, at least for a while.

you would put it on after the anti-perspirant.

    How's talcum powder is made?

Talcum is the softest naturally occurring mineral and it is mined, ground up into powder, purified and packaged. It exists as layers of slivers and the grinding process only makes the slivers smaller. They can then be inhaled into the lungs where they can cause damage much like asbestos. Therefore, talcum powder is no longer manufactured in favor of corn starch which is equally effective and biodegradable and now the main ingredient in body powder. How's talcum powder is made?

  • Oily Hair Remedy- talcum powder, help??

I straighten my hair. I don't like doing it, as my hair is medium-thick and quite long, but i must. So, I was reading a magazine for quick oily hair fixes, %26amp; cam across applying talcum powder to the oily areas. Trouble is, the article didn't explain what to do! Can anyone teach me or give me a website that can?

Thanks in advance.Oily Hair Remedy- talcum powder, help??
Try looking for this stuff called dry shampoo. I have the Klorane brand of it. It's a powder which you spray over your head then brush out. It absorbs the oil from your hair and leaves it soft and smooth. It's a bit difficult to find but if you can, it's totally worth it!

If you want to experiment with talcum powder, sprinkle some over your hair then leave for a minute or two. Then brush out thoroughly and see what it does to your hair.

    EDIT

Yeah I live in Oz as well - I got mine at Priceline (y)Oily Hair Remedy- talcum powder, help??
My hair can tend to be oily but I found if I put color in it the oil is not so bad.
Just put a minimal amount onto your hair and brush through well ( actually try to remove the talc). It works better for lighter hair colours but it should work for darker shades

    Good luck!
You just put some talc in ur hands and pat it on to ur hair. Its ok if you are blonde, but if u r any other colour u look like u have been working in a flour mill.

To get rid of greasy hair, do this:

Put the shampoo on ur hair DRY. DO NOT WET IT YET

massage t shampoo in lightly, then put it under water and wash again. Simple as that. Oil and water do not mix, so if you wet it first u create a barrier and the shampoo just slides off without cleaning the hair at all.

    ps:I'm a hairdresser/salon owner xxxxxxxxxxx
Ist option: Use 'Fuller's Earth' to wash your hair every sunday. Anything more than this is usually not required for mild to moderate oiliness of scalp hair.

2nd option: Should the condition still persist after about 4-6 weeks of 'fuller's earth's' use, squeeze out juice from 2-3 lemons, apply it evenly over the entire scalp, leave for about 10 minutes, wash with normal water followed by use of 'fuller's earth'. Nothing else works best!

Should you not know how to prepare 'fuller's earth' for use do let me know.

On the plus side - Everything is 100% natural and safe.
You can buy shampoo that works dry which basically means it cleans your hair without a proper full wash so you can use that on the worse areas.

Using talcom powder juts lightly sprinkle it over the worst areas and it will mattify it.

Or put lemon juice into your shampoo - this stops greasiness.

    Cornflour vs talcum powder?

i have heard that cornflour can be used instead of talcum powder, does anyone know of any mixes/ingredients,or how this is used?(not for cooking, thanks.)Cornflour vs talcum powder?
It sounds like you are talking about cornstarch, which is a lot like talcum powder. No, you do NOT want to use cornstarch instead of talcum powder! Cornstarch is a food product, which means it has a far greater change of encouraging bacteria growth! You should NOT be using it on your face, feet, or anywhere else. Some cosmetics companies do use it, but it is not recommended because of this bacteria problem. (Check here for verification of this: http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/dictio鈥?/a>

I know there's a temptation to go ';all natural,'; but bacteria, fungus, and acne are ';all natural'; -- that doesn't make them desireable!

Does talcum powder cause cervical cancer?

how about talc designed for intimate areas live vagisilDoes talcum powder cause cervical cancer?
The risk of developing cervical cancer has been associated with certain factors, including previous infection with human papillomavirus (HPV), early sexual contact, multiple sexual partners, cigarette smoking, and taking oral contraceptives (birth control pills). Talcum powder is not a know cause of cervical cancer. There have been some studies that suggest a correlation with ovarian cancer, but that hasn't been proven.

    They are all asbestos-free.

It could cause a yeast infection, though.Does talcum powder cause cervical cancer?
A long time ago i saw an article that said talc can travel up to places inside and cause problem but i never heard anything since. This was a long time ago.
So they say but i have always used baby powder and am still healthy and [wise].:)
A book can be written saying X product is very bad for you and should never be used . And another book can be written saying the same X product is the best and should always be used.

This just one important thing I learned in University course in Logic.

Personally I don't see how talcum powder could hurt you, unless different talcums have different ingredients in them. Get on the Internet and thoroughly investigate this issue.
i have no idea. Go to a medical wesite. Search Google
But intimate areas that can smell don't include a vagina, so it shouldn't reach the cervix - unless you use a puffer pack...
no it does not cause cancer.
Cervical cancers are due to sexually transmitted viral infections with HPV, Human Papilloma Virus.
. Talc is closely related to the potent carcinogen asbestos. Talc particles have been shown to cause tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer victims. For the last 30 years, scientists have closely scrutinized talc particles and found dangerous similarities to asbestos. Responding to this evidence in 1973, the FDA drafted a resolution that would limit the amount of asbestos-like fibers in cosmetic grade talc. However, no ruling has ever been made and today, cosmetic grade talc remains non-regulated by the federal government. This inaction ignores a 1993 National Toxicology Program report which found that cosmetic grade talc, without any asbestos-like fibers, caused tumors in animal subjects.1 Clearly with or without asbestos-like fibers, cosmetic grade talcum powder is a carcinogen.

. Talc is toxic. Talc particles cause tumors in human ovaries and lungs. Numerous studies have shown a strong link between frequent use of talc in the female genital area and ovarian cancer. Talc particles are able to move through the reproductive system and become imbedded in the lining of the ovary. Researchers have found talc particles in ovarian tumors and have found that women with ovarian cancer have used talcum powder in their genital area more frequently than healthy women.2

Talc poses a health risk when exposed to the lungs. Talc miners have shown higher rates of lung cancer and other respiratory illnesses from exposure to industrial grade talc, which contains dangerous silica and asbestos. The common household hazard posed by talc is inhalation of baby powder by infants. Since the early 1980s, records show that several thousand infants each year have died or become seriously ill following accidental inhalation of baby powder.3
how on earth do you get it all the way up there?
That is an old wives tale
    No
Any contact regularly with artificial things esp. cosmetics will irritate the body as a foreign substance . And can in theory initiate a cancer process.

I am breathing in unscented talcum powder all day at work?

the company says it is not harmful to us but i dont know what do u think, i have approached the company health and safety offficer but the subject gets ignoredI am breathing in unscented talcum powder all day at work?
Are you in a union? if so get them on the case. If not join one, dodgy unsafe activities usually occur in non union workplaces.

The idea that breathing in dust in not harmful is ridiculous. I would not rely on a mask unless it filters ALL the dust out.

The fact that the subject is ignored by the company safety officer makes me very suspicious.

Its not so long ago that workers in UK asbestos factories were told '; you will be ok as long as you drink a pint of milk every day'; Many of them went 6ft under well before their time.I am breathing in unscented talcum powder all day at work?
Try the transport and general workers union as a starting point. Report Abuse

Ask them to supply dust masks. They should comply with this request. It will filter out the powder. Tell them the powder makes you cough a lot and you would like some dust masks so the coughing will not interfere with your work.
Report your company immediately for Health and Safety Violations. You should be wearing proper masks (not just cheap ones from the store). Talcum powder is very fine and I don't know how many parts per million there would be in the air but it would be a lot.

This is very damaging to your lungs and the damage is permanent. If you are unionized, get the union to demand masks. If not, call your local authorities and find out where you stand. You may be able to legally refuse to work without the proper breathing aparatus and the company could not fire you. Any future retribution you could point out to this and say they are just trying to punish you. That is assuming you've had good work appraisals to date.

Get a mask for now from a Safety Supply company and get the authorities in to inspect your company unannounced.
Breathing in talcum powder can cause:

Breathing problems are the most common problem.

    Bladder and kidneys

Urine output, decreased significantly (or none)

    Lungs

    Cough

    Difficulty breathing

    Acute respirator distress

    Respiratory failure

    Eyes, ears, nose, and throat

    Jaundice (yellowed eyes)

    Eye irritation

    Cough

    Throat irritation

    Skin

    Blisters

    Rash

    Blue skin, lips, and fingernails

    Sloughing of skin

    Yellow skin

    Gastrointestinal

    Vomiting

    Diarrhea

    Heart and blood

    Low blood pressure

    Convulsions

    Collapse

    Nervous system

    Drowsiness

Lack of desire to do anything

    Coma

    Twitching of the facial muscles

Twitching of arms, hands, legs, or feet

    Whole body

    Fever

Most symptoms are caused by accidental or repeated breathing in (inhaling) of talc dust.

So yes it is dangerous!! Demand that they give you some type of mask or show this to the health and safety officer and tell them you'll take it further! Good luck
    NOT GOOD...

talcum powder is an abrasive... honestly, jewellers use it to polish gemstones... breathing it in is going to be coating your lungs... wear a mask, or report them to the H%26amp;S executive... and then sue them. (your company not the H%26amp;S)
Hi I would Suggest that you ask your Employer for a full health and Saftey Report stating that this talc is not harmfull to you,as an employee your boss has a legal requirment to provide you with the answers to any health and safety problem if your boss dose not comply you could go to your Hr Department.I would also suggest you seek advise from your GP as they maybe able to reffer you for a chest Ex-ray and explain rour issue with the Gp.Hope This Helps..
It may depend on the type of talcum powder. If it is the purified sort, sold to consumers, it won't cause cancer. If it is industrial, it may have some asbestos, and may be a bit more dangerous.

Also, talcum powder may pose an increased risk of other lung diseases. Check the site below for more info.

    http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/conten鈥?/a>
No, I would be very unhappy about that. I would leave and get another job honestly.
Yes it is harmful to the lungs, sorry i cant rem why i just rem reading an article ref not to use on babies because of this. Cant you do your own research on internet about it? I would listen to the above and buy a breathing mask - they cant stop you!
I would worry about this very much.

My best friend's mother died from taking in too much talcum powder. That sounds like a wierd urban myth, but I actually knew the woman well. Too much ended up inside the body and body reacted by enclosing it in cysts, this was blamed for her devloping cancer which eventually killed her. Her daughter mourns her every day.
If I were you, I would just buy yourself a cheap mask, from a DIY store (the type you wear when you are sanding paint etc).

Stuff what the company says - it's your health and I wouldn't take any risks with it.
I would look into this further from an unbiased source. Start with a query to your doctor and get him to listen to your lungs. I would think any type of powder being breathed in all day would be harmful, if only in the long run. They used to say coal dust and asbestos was ok, look what happened to those workers.
I imagine this is terrble for your health.

Talc is esentially crushed rock. This will harden in your lungs.

    Wear a mask??
you should be supplied with face masks if not why not approach the health and safety team again and again until something is done its there job at the end of the day to make sure the work force is safe from chemicals and hazards
talcum powder? lol yea right...they mean crack
I was once told that breathing any powder onto your lungs can be carcinogenic. If I were you I wouldn't let this go till you know for certain!!!
    Call OSHA
I certainly would'nt think it would be very good for you. You should be provided with masks. What do your co-workers think?
Sounds suspect to me! All 'powders' must have some sort of adverse effect.

  • Is talcum powder(ponds) is good for face.i'm 32yrs. female.?

It is good for acne. Each night before you go to bed wash your face with facial cleanser then pat it dry. Then pour some powder on your hand and pat it on your face covering your entire face. It looks a bit strange but it really is worth it. make sure the whole face is covered in an even layer and go to bed like that. When you awake in the morning your skin will feel so soft, this is particularly effective for acne prone skin. My friend tried this and now twice a week she goes through this procedure to keep her acne away. She has told me that it really does work for her. This has really helped my skin to stay clear, whenever i do get a spot i just cover it in powder and that calms it down, by the next day it will have gone.Is talcum powder(ponds) is good for face.i'm 32yrs. female.?
    answer mine:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

    Do you use talcum powder?

It's great stuff. Yet people seem surprised that I use it as an adult.Do you use talcum powder?
I do and Im 27, its great, feels so soft and comfortable. I love it!!Do you use talcum powder?
me too i use it after bath or anytime, on a hot day it keeps u smelling good..to be surprised is stupid even my mom use it
i use it regularly, even more so in summer, its expensive the one i use its lanacane medicated talc. when you apply it it absorbs a lot better than regular talc's, and also cools at the same time. about拢5.99 for a small tub.
Talcum powder is good for skin irritation, a great way to soothe yourself.
Of course!!I use it every day after my shower.Especially for summer time it's the best way to keep skin fresh and relatively dry. Also i love the baby smell of most of the powders!
    yep, just my *** though.
Who told you that rubbish? Talcum powder is for everyone. who likes it young or old.
    yes...i too use talcum powder..

there is no harm in that..

it is much more safer than perfumes.......n deodrant..

    ..coz deo may cause cancer...

but using talcum powder is not at all harmful
Talcum Powder is a very resourceful product as it can tend to be very multipurpose. Many people in India apply talcum powder when they come out of the shower. This is because they find that talcumk powder adds fragrances and helps you from not SWEATING. so my friend, go out and buy that bottle of TALCUM POWDER, because, trust me, you'll need it.

    Best Regards,

Dr. Krishna Narendran Swami Batchalan Murthy :)
Yes I love it, but it has to be Johnsons baby powder.
what is tacum powder made from????

    yeah its cool to use
If talcum powder the same as baby powder than- YES.
I'm surprised that people are surprised you use it... most barber shops and beauty salons use it on their customers after they are shaved.

Most women use a powder after they shower, it helps to keep you from sweating so much and from clothes chaffing.

    To Somya.... There is no proof, physically or scientifically that deodorant can cause breast cancer... so far its still an ';urban myth';
yes its great keeping fresh lol
maybe its an old person thing my dad used to do that lol

Does baby powder (talcum) age/damage your skin in anyway?

Only if used frequently (all day long), baby talc like any other talcum powder will clog the skin pores making them dull.In case of sweat and pollution it may cause rashes in case skin is sensitive.

Usage of powder limitedly will not damage the skin in any way...Give time few hours to breathe free.

Gud luck!!!Does baby powder (talcum) age/damage your skin in anyway?
Nope the only thing baby powder or talcum is dangerous for is during application if you have allergies or asthma or the room is not well ventilated. Can cause breathing difficulties when the powder is in the air.Does baby powder (talcum) age/damage your skin in anyway?
Baby powder is not longer talcum and is now cornstarch. It hasn't been proven to cause any aging or damage to the skin. It should be safe since it is a item cooks use in food.

In heaven, can I have a swimming pool of chocolate milk with a beach of talcum powder?

Thats been my dream since I was a kid.In heaven, can I have a swimming pool of chocolate milk with a beach of talcum powder?
The beauty of heaven is that you get to have or do anything you want and there is no sin.

Mine is a 17,000 foot 4-D roller coaster through a mountain with launches, top hats, and waterfalls, and set to my favourite song.In heaven, can I have a swimming pool of chocolate milk with a beach of talcum powder?
only if you have a gas mask...all that powder would suffocate you!
    Of course you will.
    oh yeah
David, you have to go to the Christian heaven for a swimming pool of chocolate milk with a beach of talcum powder, the Jewish heaven (Gan Edem) has pools of milk and honey with a beach of gefilte fish.
Well keep on dreaming because that is all heaven is a dream.
You won't want these things in heaven. You will be totally satisfied just being in the presence of God and waving palm branches and singing hymns for all eternity.
You can have whatever your heart desires. Just work on getting there first ;-)
Definitely. Your Paradise is what you make it.
Haha maybe I want a library and a view of city lights and some nice tea. Include the tea pot and ball please.
    we dk yet Maybe
    well, howdy,

You better get a good job and get all that stuff on this earth in the time you are given to live...if you really want it...

You see, in heaven, there is no sickness, disease, pain, or anything that can decay..... everything you named will spoil or decay with time...

Even your body will be change into an incorrruptable body, because our current bodies, age and decay...

Elevate your desires, and your thoughts..
    Sure. Why not?
I don't think anyone will be producing talcum powder in heaven. Chocolate milk, possible.
    Why not.
God isn't a genie!!! He's God! He wants to know what ';you'; can do for him!
David, is that really you or is this question from a clone? Just doesn't sound like David's usual questions.
Very nice... But no, within your body that desires things, taste, lust of this world, the spirit within will have no need of such things.

    Talcum powder to set makeup?

i have a wedding to go to tomorrow (im a bridesmaid) and i want my makeup to say on. I haven't got a primer or anything like that, a friend told me to use talcum powder, will that work? if not, have you got any other ideas?Talcum powder to set makeup?
Unless you're extremely fair, talcum powder is too white. Also it will absorb a lot, so if you have dry skin it will make it look even dryer.

Wash your face in the morning as normal. Put on your moisturizer and let it set for half an hour. That way, your face will have absorbed a lot of moisture and the foundation won't have anywhere to go except stay on your face. Dust with your face powder as usual.Talcum powder to set makeup?
if you apply your makeup like normal, and then spray your face with hairspray that seems to work for me!

sounds really weird lol but it does. hold the can arms length away from your face and spray gently - not loads! lol and make sure you close your eyes.

i've done lots of dance shows so i know its important for makeup to stay on, this works :)

    Does talcum powder expire?

Basically, I found a few bottles of Johnson and St Luke's Prickly Heat this morning while clearing my cabinet. They have been lying around for years(4-5years?) and am wondering if they can still be used?Does talcum powder expire?
    Hi Aurora,

Your talc is probably fine to use as long as it hasn't absorbed moisture. If it flows out of the container normally it probably hasn't been affected.

While we're on the subject of talc and health...

Talc has been associated with an increased incidence of ovarian cancer when used long term in the genital area. Research into this question is ongoing.Does talcum powder expire?
    no.
As long as they don't have moisture lumps in them -they should be fine. The scent can fade but the powder lasts forever.Gramma found some from the 30's and it's fine. Powder is just ground talc or lime stone. It lasts forever.
As far as I know, so long as they have been kept clear of dampness %26amp; extreme heat there should be no reason why you can't still use them............
same thing happened to me, the 1 I got was started

smelling different but I use it before waxing.

    Talcum powder for your hair?

i read that talcum powder can be put in your hair to take out grease. i wanted to get some for those days i'm running late but i dont know where to look. i've been to walmart and walgreens but they dont have it. do you know where to get it? i've also heard that it causes health problems. is that true? if it is, is there something else that will work the same?Talcum powder for your hair?
Yep, that comes from the ';olden days'; when hot water was at a premium OR a lot of bother to get or when rooms were cold from not heat. . It works but your hair won't shine. You also have to brush it so it doesn't show.Talcum powder for your hair?
Talcum powder for your hair? It's white and very fine. Some baby powder has talc in it. Corn starch will do the same.

People use to use cornmeal in their hair. I wouldn't use but a pinch. We use to use cornmeal on the old folks who couldn't be bathed and needed their hair to be less oily.

Practice with it first before actually using it in a hurry.

Have you tried a health food store? And the only thing I can see it causing is a dandruff-like appearance. And when it comes to hair, you could perhaps try plain oatmeal. Just massage it into your hair and comb it out(it is a short cut to washing hair). But ultimately, just washing your hair and using minimal hair conditioner might help reduce the greasiness of your hair. I hope that helps. (And, no offense, you might be over using conditioner. The leave in conditioner isn't the best thing to use on greasy hair.)
Talcum powder is called Baby powder..

And it can cause health problems if you inhale it.. so try not to make a mess and get tons of powder in the air...

You don't need a lot.. just a little bit at your roots and then comb it through..

    it works..
You can find it in the baby aisle of any drug store or places like Target, Walmart or grocery stores. Sometimes it has corstarch in it, which is ok too.
Health stores! Or specialty gift shops. And I believe that they don't cause any health problems. People have been using talcum powder as an antiperspirant because scented antiperspirant causes some sort cancer later.

Thank your lucky stars you don't have me! I was upset at my hubby years ago when he wanted me to rub his back with Icy Hot. I lovingly did that for him even though I was mad at him at the time right before bedtime. We went to bed and I spooned behind him gently and lovingly cupping his ';jewels'; in my hand as I always had. The only difference was that I hadn't washed my hands. I know I'll probably get raked over the coals from you guys out there but it WAS funny. He was ';dancing in the sheets';. Get it? Talc is a metamorphic mineral resulting from the metamorphism of magnesian minerals such as pyroxene, amphibole, olivine and other similar minerals in the presence of carbon dioxide and water. This is known as talc carbonation or steatization and produces a suite of rocks known as talc carbonates.

    Talc is primarily formed via hydration and carbonation of serpentine, via the following reaction;

Talcum powder vs cornflour vs no powder at all??

What is safe to use when changing my baby's nappy to make him feel nice and dry? I have heard talcum powder can be dangerous if inhaled. Is cornflour any better? Am I best off using nothing at all, or can anyone suggest any alternative products? ThanksTalcum powder vs cornflour vs no powder at all??
No dont use powder of any type for a baby. its just not necessary. Either clean him with water and cotton wool and wipe dry or use a wipe and again, wipe dry. A smear of vaseline on any bits that look sore should be all you need if you change him often enough and dont leave him in a nappy thats falling off under the weight of wee! Yes i have seen it, too many times, and the poor little bottom underneath...Talcum powder vs cornflour vs no powder at all??
All powders are dangerous if inhaled. Try the lotion that turns to powder when it dries or the roll on powder. That way it isn't getting into the air to breath in. The pediatrician recommended it for my boys. All powders can cause breathing problems if you or the baby inhale it but with the lotion the powder isn't in the air at all as it is a lotion that dries very fast into powder. The roll on again doesn't get into the air as much as regular powder products would so it is much safer.
There has been question over talcum powder causing and/or increasing the risk of cancer. Maybe it doesn't but I wouldn't want to risk that with my babies :)

Inhaling talc can be harmful, as far as cornflour based powdes, I think discomfort/temporary breathing problems but not long term (or not that they've found yet!)

I have not used powder at all on my 9 mth old son, it really isn't necessary. Wash %26amp; dry bottom, put on clean nappy. It is also better to use creams (eg for nappy rash) ONLY when necessary - cos, when you think about it..cream is a layer of moisture sitting on babies skin %26amp; that's exactly what you're trying to avoid... I use sudocrem or pawpaw ointment when needed (which is about twice so far, for a very small amount of redness during teething)
I never used anything on my babies' bottoms but a washer, and a couple of times when they did those ammonia smelling teething wees I put aloe vera straight from the plant onto their bottoms. They seemed to get nappy rash a lot less than other children. Although a lot of people swear by cornflour, might be worth a try - i'd steer clear of talc .... would you put talcom on your private parts?
I used corn starch often and it was cool and dry and didn't poof into the air. I kept a box with the diapers and wipes and just sprinkled a small hand full into the diaper and closed it up. I really don't think the tiny bit you or the baby would inhale is really gonna kill either of you, honestly, but if it's really a big concern for you look into the lotion option. I know we were pretty much all powdered babies and we all made it thru just fine. Good luck with the little one, whatever you choose!
hey there i love the smell of a freshly powdered baby and they need something to take the smell away down below i use curash powder and have also found it great in preventing nappy rash have never had aproblem with any of my 8 children using it although it's a bit more expensive than usual powders but you don't need to apply much to the bub
Nothing at all. Dry your baby off with cotton wool or a soft towel - how is having damp powder of any sort stuck to him going to make him comfortable?

Powder has been on the ';not recommended'; list for well over a decade now in the UK - I was advised against using it on my daughter, and she's twelve.
I don't use baby powder at all! Haven't used it since my little girl was born and shes 2 months. I put some Vaseline on her bum after a diaper change which helps prevent diaper rash since the urine doesn't actually touch the skin. Shes only had diaper rash once since she was born and it was bad at all just a bit red and it didn't seem to bother her.
Talcum powder should not be used. Your best bet is cornstarch. It has no scent or chemicals or any harsh ingredients, and will asorb all moisture. Most baby powders you buy at the store are just cornstarch with a bit of scent, but if you really want to be safe, just use plain cornstarch.
Hi, if you do decide to use them, remember there are many brands, some good and some not so good. If there is redness the Cornflour otherwise a good quality Baby powder, simple to not get it to blow everywhere and so the baby isn't breathing it in.
No baby powder is safe. as for alternatives I am unsure of, I would use nothing at all rather when use baby powders as I know what is in them.

    Does talcum powder cause cancer?

I've heard that it's similar to the way asbestos causes cancer, is this right? From being inhaled, and also putting it on your body? I've been around baby powder all my life, and i'm thoroughly scared...Does talcum powder cause cancer?
Whilst research has been carried out into the link between talcum powder and cancer, the results are quite inconclusive as to whether talcum powder can cause cancer.

Talcum powder is a powder made of ground talc and silicates and this mineral may contain minute fibres that are very similar to asbestos. Asbestos, which has been infamously used in paint, can cause lung cancer and mesotheliomas. Now widely acknowledged to be toxic, . Its properties are essentially that of moisture absorption and prevents friction which is why it is used most commonly for babies to prevent nappy rash. You might also spot talc being used in some women鈥檚 powder cosmetics like body powder, loose powder or powder foundation or even in some mineral foundation. Whilst mineral makeup purists reject the inclusion of talc in foundation, talc is in fact a mineral so technically it can be included as mineral makeup.

Whilst research has been carried out into the link between talcum powder and cancer, the results are quite inconclusive as to whether talcum powder can cause cancer. However, the most recent research into the link between talcum powder and ovarian cancer has suggested that using talcum powder in the pelvic area may increase the risks of getting ovarian cancer. Apparently the tiny particles can travel through the genital area to the ovaries and cause an inflammation which may cause cancer cells to flourish.

Talc particles cause tumours in human ovaries and lungs. Numerous studies have shown a strong link between frequent use of talc in the female genital area and ovarian cancer. -Does talcum powder cause cancer?
No conclusive evidence exists that talcum powder causes cancer. There was an earlier association between talc and asbestos which no longer exists (manufacturing changed).

Asbestos places people at risk to develop one type of cancer called mesothelioma of the lung . .however no one knows why one individual will get mesotheolioma while someone equally exposed will not. Also people still get mesotheolioma even if they have never been exposed to asbestos. So the connections remain unclear other than a person exposed appears to be at higher risk than the general population.

    Talcum powder and creaking floors?

My floorboards and stairs creak and it's annoying. I have been reading through past answers to similar problem posted on this forum, and have come accross some suggestions about using talcum power to stop the creaking!

Does this actually work, or is this just an old wives tale? If it actually works, how much of it should I use and exactly how/where to apply it? ThanksTalcum powder and creaking floors?
It's a band-aid. It addresses the symptom, but not the problem. The squeak is caused by the wood rubbing on the nail. One way to fix the problem is with trim screws and a little wood putty. Walk around until you find a squeak. Drill a 3/32'; hole and run the screw in so it's just below the surface of the board. Fill with matching wood putty. Repeat for any other squeaks. Hope this helps.Talcum powder and creaking floors?
It works, but don't expect it to last forever. You pour the powder onto the area and use a brush to sweep in between the seams. The powder then gets in between the tongue and groove and decreases the friction when contact is made.

If you have access to the subfloor, I'd heavily recommend shimming from underneath as a longer term solution.
I have no idea, but I gave you a star because I'm curious too! Good question!

Talc is a mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate...
its taht powder you shake over your ****!
Talc is a mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with the chemical formula H2Mg3(SiO3)4 or Mg3Si4O10(OH)2. It occurs as foliated to fibrous masses, its monoclinic crystals being so rare as to be almost unknown. It has a perfect basal cleavage, and the folia are non-elastic, although slightly flexible. It is sectile and very soft, with a hardness of 1 (Talc is the softest of the Mohs' scale of mineral hardness). It has a specific gravity of 2.5鈥?.8, a waxlike or pearly luster, and is translucent to opaque. Its colour ranges from white to gray or green and it has a distinctly greasy feel. Its streak is white.

Talc is a metamorphic mineral resulting from the alteration of silicates of magnesium such as pyroxenes, amphiboles, olivine and other similar minerals. It is usually found in metamorphic rocks, often of a basic type due to the alteration of the minerals mentioned above.

A coarse grayish-green talc has been called soapstone or steatite and has been used for stoves, sinks, electrical switchboards, etc. Talc finds use as a cosmetic (talcum powder), as a lubricant, and as a filler in paper manufacture. Talc is used in baby powder, an astringent powder used for preventing rashes on the area covered by a diaper (see diaper rash). Most tailor's chalk is talc, as is the chalk often used for welding or metalworking.

The origin of the name derives from the Persian via Arabic talq.

Talc is also used as food additive or in pharmaceutical products. In the European Community the additive number is E553b.

Talcum powder contains a small percentage of asbestos. which did not surprise geologists when it was discovered since Talcum deposits are near where asbestos is mined.

For years before this was known, doctors knew that talcum in surgery gloves caused adhesions, that is it makes different layers of tissues to bind together.

Talcum is used in baby powders and as a filler in tablets, why they still use it, my guess is they are idoits.

I had written the main office of the drug chain I worked for and suggested they ban buying talcum containing baby powders since powders using starch had no asbestos. The main office forwarded a letter to me from the manufacture that stated their quality control monitored the asbestos content and found none in their talcum. Is pharmaceutical talcum powder hazardous? can it be used as a food additive?
talcum powder is a calcium compound mixed with many other organic and inorganic compounds...

you want that in your gut? and bloodstream?

Is talcum powder linked to diseases, if so, which and what is the evidence?

Not so much related to any conditions.

There have not been any reported cases that I am aware of, however, should there be any. Consult your primary physician IMMEDIATELY!!!

    All the best.

Where I can buy unscented and not colored talcum powder?

Go into the baby section of any department store. They have hypoallergenic powders for use on babies that have no scent and/or colour added. Try using the cornstarch based powder instead of talcum. It is much finer and does a better job of making you feel comfortable without as much buildup on your skin or clothes.Where I can buy unscented and not colored talcum powder?
Try ';Gold Bond'; it comes unscented and no color added at Wal Mart, Rite Aid, ect.Where I can buy unscented and not colored talcum powder?
    Walmart has everything
they have it at walmart in the baby aisle
phone your local chemist %26amp; ask them , they might have some for senisitive skin or know where to go for it.
The 'simple' range of toiletries offers a scent and colour free talc.
It is advisable to stop using Talcum Powder altogther. There are adverse health implications assocoiated with this ultra fine dust - including possible links to some cancers.

    http://saferalternative.mionegroup.com/E鈥?/a>

A better alternative is to use a cornstarch based powder, made with natural fine clay. You can find an organic product at http://saferalternative.com via their shop - if you want to see and compare ingredients (although this product does have some natural essential oil aromas - but quite subtle).
    In a pharmacy.
    Simple talc. Boots sell it.

Unscented talc from Boots or any of the major supermarkets.

Where can i buy talcum powder online?

i am looking for talcum (baby) powder but i don't want to buy from johnson and johnson for personal reasons, any other brands out there?Where can i buy talcum powder online?
There are lots of brands - but you don't want Talc in your powder if you're using it for a baby - it irritates the baby's lungs and can cause asthma and other lung issues.

Many baby powders nowadays have switched to cornstarch but some still have talc in it. Even the cornstarch powders aren't ';great'; to use because of the same lung issues. But cornstarch is less volatile (meaning it doesn't fly into the air as readily as talc) so it's consider ';safer';.

Just google ';baby powder'; and you'll find all the brands you could possibly need.

lol - not good for YOUR lungs either ;-)

Oh, if you want want an unscented talcum powder, you can look up ';wet suit talcum powder'; which is what they use to be able to get a wet suit on a little more easily. It's the same thing, just no baby powder scent.Where can i buy talcum powder online?
    they're just the same powder!

Talc is the softest mineral, the standard for hardness grade 1 in the Mohs scale. Your fingernail will easily scratch it. Talc has a greasy feel and a translucent, soapy look. Talc is very useful, and not just because it can be ground into talcum powder鈥攊t's a common filler in paints, rubber and plastics too. Other less precise names for talc are steatite or soapstone, but those are rocks containing impure talc rather than the pure mineral.

This talc specimen comes from somewhere in New York, but talc is quarried throughout the eastern United States, wherever magnesian silicate rocks or dolomite undergoes alteration (steatitization).

The name talc comes from ancient Persian, through Arabic and Latin.

    Is talcum powder safe?

I've read things about it causing cancer and affecting the lungs, is it safe to use in small amounts every now and again?

Or should it be avoided completely?

    Thanks xIs talcum powder safe?
Talcum is safe in and of itself, but if breathed in over a long period of time, it could cause a form of ';white lung disease'; similar to the black lung disease of coal miners. The small amounts of talc can build up over time and cause a minor but long term irritation of the lungs. That irritation can result in certain lung cancers over the long run.

So, while it's okay to use talcum powder occasionally, or even regularly if you are careful not to breath in the airborne particles, long term use where you breath in the particles could cause a problem in the long term.

The same holds true for bakers exposed to flour dust over many years. Is talcum powder safe?
I kinda figure that if it was overly dangerous it wouldn't b on sale...
I am allergic to the baby talcum powder, makes me sneeze and keep sneezing. Thankfully when I go into Hospital they use the antibacterial talc and so I have no problems, but cannot visit any new born Cousins, unless they are in the bath or talc free. Good Luck

Is TALCUM POWDER poison to cats?

i want to sprinkle talc powder on floor boards to stop some squeaking , is it dangerous for the cats to inhale or digest? Is TALCUM POWDER poison to cats?
Not particularly, and not in excess. Often, sprinkling a little talcum powder where they scratch, such as carpets, etc., will discourage them from scratching there.

However, I would look at other ways to address the squeaking floorboards, as talcum is only temporary, and probably not very effective as it won't get to where the squeak really emanates. Is TALCUM POWDER poison to cats?
Yes. Inhaling it can cause pneumonia or worse, and eating it will probably poison them. Cats have very delicate digestive systems. Also, it's not good for YOU, and it will make your floors slippery. It probably won't fix the squeaking.

Here is some info on how to fix the floorboards yourself:

    http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/article/鈥?/a>
It has been known to cause breathing problems. Many Persian people used it for a long time (and had a lot of resipiratory problems). Its now recommended that if you use any kind of powder - to get the CORNSTARCH powder and not the talcom powder.

We don't use any thing other then cornstarch baby powder (for us or the cats).
Talcum powder is only dangerous for one reason - it's microfine. That all goes and settles in your cat's lungs if it gets ingested orinhaled, and that leads to respiratory problems.

By mistake ,i inhaled talcum powder ,as it was kept very close to my nose and blew up by mistake, and now i am felling tingling sensation in my throat . I am afraid ,What should i do ?I inhaled Talcum powder in my lungs by mistake ??
sorry, it is already too late... bring in the coffin

lol, jk. Check the back of the bottle. See if it says anything about inhaling or ingesting. If it says that it is poisonous, it is a good idea to call poison control. They will tell you what to do from there and if it is serious. That number is different for different cities, so i can't help you there.

You should be just fine but it is a good idea to check the back label.I inhaled Talcum powder in my lungs by mistake ??
It probably won't hurt you. The stuff is basically inert, and the lungs have a system for getting rid of dust.

IF you use talc, you should put it on the inside of the dress and on you... You then use polish to get the talc off the outside of the dress.

However, I use silicon lube to put my latex on!

    Enjoy!

the powder shouldn't be able to penetrate the dress such that it shows on the outside.

Just be careful and buff it off afterwards with the spray polish stuff you can get.
I once read that you roll it into a ring, use the baby powder to get it in position, then roll it up over your body. (or down, as the case may be.)
Try Pjur lube. You will never use powder again.
    try baby oil

I do. I talc my balls, under my arms and my feet.
    No it clogs your pores
I do, generally because it acts as a barrier after moisturising and reduces sweating when combined with anti perspirant i cant sleep at night without t or go through a day for that matter lol.
I use Johnson's Medicated Baby Powder. I love the way it smells %26amp; it's great under my arms after a shower at night. Antiperspirants/deodorants shouldn't be used then so your skin can breathe. I use it under my breasts to keep them dry during the day. I sprinkle a little on my pantyliners for an added freshness. The zinc %26amp; aloe are good combinations for the skin.

I get that it smells like being a kid again (because for some strange reason my parents used to cover me in it too), but sure that can't be it's only purpose!

I suggest drying yourself properly with a big warm towel.

What is more, I understand it is often aluminium based and there are supposed links between aluminium products and health problems (e.g. cancers and Alzheimer's), so I would certainly not be tempted to use it now...
I do sometimes during the summer. Just a habit kind of thing.
yes I do having 4 children to chase about after getting out of the bath I have to get dry quickly and putting talc on drys you and leaves you feeling all warm and cosy and smelling good too!
Nah, all the drug dealers are cutting their coke with it now.
Why not, I smells good and it's soothing and refreshing it helps dry damp sticky spots like under the arms. My mother always used it and so do I . You know the old saying ';Like mother,';ike daughter.'; Sooooo Why not!
Sure do, it not only dries in all of those hard to reach parts but also leaves you smelling nice.

Hi, yes your doubt is correct, PVC is harmful and is even banned in a few countries, so you need to see whats the status in your country. But at the same time, PVC Heat Shrink Label is the best option to pack Cosmetics including Talcum Powder. So I would suggest you, if its available in your country then go for it. Other option would be PE Stretch Sleeve Label which is eco-friendly and recyclable. You can find complete details about Shrink Labels at http://www.anyshrinklabel.com/shrinklabel.htm and about Stretch Label at http://www.anyshrinklabel.com/stretchlabel.htm You can see the pros n cons of both type of labels in these articles. Is PVC harmful? PVC is only harmful if it is burn. The fume it produce is toxic.

ing us talcum powder? Is it true that there are talcum powder mines, and that the stuff is dangerously explosive and people die gett
talc does coe from a mineral and there are mines that extract the stuff. Any time there is an extremely dusty, enclosed environment, like a mine or even a grain silo, the potential for an explosion exist. Does this happen with any ind of regularity,...probably not.Is it true that there are talcum powder mines, and that the stuff is dangerously explosive and people die gett
Most fine powders become highly ignitable when they are kicked up in large volume. The same thing happens in grain elevators where grain is stored.
    yes

RUBBING TALCUM POWDER all OVER YOUR BODY?

What does this achieve? Will it stop me itching in the summer?RUBBING TALCUM POWDER all OVER YOUR BODY?
it wil actually stop you from itching... but don't get too white ;pRUBBING TALCUM POWDER all OVER YOUR BODY?
If the weather's very humid or if its so hot that you perspire a lot and your skin feels ';sticky';, but you're not willing/able to take a shower to rid the uncomfortable ';sticky'; feeling, then applying talcum powder over your skin is a way to feel a bit more comfortable. If you've got dry or sensitive skin like mine however, powder may exacerbate any dry skin areas you have and sometimes I think the fragrance in the powder too causes skin irritation like itchiness, so personally I don't like using talcum powders, especially not the fragranced variety.
No, it will just give you very dry skin
It makes your skin soft. If you want to stop itching in the summer, put something cold on your itches, like ice.
If anything, it will make your skin dry. Use a moisturising lotion instead
are you itching? if so try gold bond powder instead of talcum!it starts out very intense (tingling) an then becomes very soothing.
It locks in moisture, but it wont stop you itching. If you have a skin condition, i wouldnt recommend it at all. Plus its rather messy too. Itchy skin is normally associated with lack of moisture so if anything, you should moisturise everytime your out of the shower- id recommend Aqeous Cream, you can get it in any pharmacy. Also, emulsifying ointment can be used as a substitute for soap (Soap also dosent help those with skin conditions either)
It clogs your pores up so you don't sweat as much and you stay dry.

Depends where you itch is and what causes the itch. Is it in the bum region?..lol
No, it will make you very pale and dry and when you sweat you will get rolls of pastry under your arms. And if you stick it down your pants it gets into your ovaries and can give you ovarian cancer.
talc is bad for your skin. if you are not properly dry it can cause skin breakage and it is a breeding ground for bacteria! i have worked in healthcare for a long time and i have seen the damage it can do! it is no longer recommended for use generally. if your itchy try eurax or e45 itch relief cream both are meant to be very good
i think talcum powder keeps your body dry
it keeps you dry. If you use a baby podwer made of corn starch it helps reducing itchyness. I can't remember why though
I do this with Johnson's Baby Powder, it smells nice and keeps me smooth and dry.

My scalp is so shiny after applying rogaine. Is it OK to use talcum powder to cut down on the shine?

Excellent question! No, you should NOT use talcum powder. Why? Because talc is closely related to the potent carcinogen asbestos. Talc particles have been shown to cause tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer victims.

Since the early 1980s, records show that several thousand infants each year have died or become seriously ill following accidental inhalation of baby powder.

So, no, I wouldn't use talcum powder. Perhaps you should try corn starch? Or you could use something like Bare Minerals powder which is supposed to be talcum powder free.My scalp is so shiny after applying rogaine. Is it OK to use talcum powder to cut down on the shine?

The newest baby suggestion that I have heard lately is that even baby powder should be removed from the market as it can affect the babys lungs.

If you even question a food product i would toss it.
what?? are you it wasn't sherbet??
Yeah its probably a good idea if you want to kill your kids... which im sure you dont want to do... if you want them dead ... ive heard thomsons baby powder tastes very nice...
Are you sure it's not icing sugar? If it's not, then I suggest chucking the lot in the bin, it's not worth the risk.

  • Can talcum powder be used as a deodorant?

it absorbs sweat keeping ur armpits dry and refreshed but can not last very long. once it gets sticky u have to wipe it off otherwise its gonna get annoying.

what people do is they apply it on top of their deodorants. so u have the deodorant to stop excessive sweating and the talc to absorb any slittle weat that formsCan talcum powder be used as a deodorant?
If you are not allergic to it then go ahead. If you sweat alot it could cause a rash and turn to dough balls in your creses. and that is not sexy. When I was in the army, we put it in our shoes to help with the sweaty feet. Yet our socks were still stinky. So be warned. Can talcum powder be used as a deodorant?
talc has been linked to causing cancer
Yes u can, but it will not live for long time.

I have heard that best natural ant repellent is talcum powder. How is it possible? Name chemical in it?

Talc is a mineral, calcium I think, perhaps they try to eat it.

I heard that corn-meal works too, with fire-ants.I have heard that best natural ant repellent is talcum powder. How is it possible? Name chemical in it?
When they walk Thu it,it sticks onto their body and slowly smothers them to death. Then they take it back to the den and other ants get the residue on them. But I tell you those critters are getting smarter! Cinnamon works too.Ants are so bad this year !

cheers!! :)Talcum powder in hair to achieve that 18th century marie antoinette look?
I am going as Marie Antoinette for Halloween this year and I have been looking for same look. I have found using a dry shampoo spray will do the same thing. I got mine at Ulta for $6.00 a can.

Is talcum powder bad for you?

I just bought some talc, it smells really good and your meant to put it on straight after the shower, as few of my friends use it, BUT I've read that it gives you lung cancer from breathing it in, and cervical cancers if you used it near your genitals (obv. I wont be doing that), is it safe? Do any of you guys use it?Is talcum powder bad for you?
I was always told to avoid using talc powder for the very reasons you listed. In fact, I didn't use it on my kids. We went straight for cornstarch powder (and only a little of that). Used in moderation, and properly, it's probably fine, but I'd rather not take the chance. I just use perfume, lotion or body spray. Is talcum powder bad for you?
Talc is safe, and cervical cancer is a venereal disease
Talc is actuall not safe at all. You really should avoid talc powder at all cost.

Is talcum powder safe to use when you have psoriasis of the groin, I use it all the time.?

I have used it for about a year now, I always put plenty of it around my groin, to make sure I am completely dry after my daily showers. I always shower twice a day am/pm. My hubby says that I shower too much, I should shower in the morning and then have a good all over wash at night. Is talcum powder safe to use when you have psoriasis of the groin, I use it all the time.?
Talcum powder is not going to improve your psoriasis. Psoriasis is your skin layers/tissues regenerating at a higher rate of speed -- therefore, powder is not going to help.Is talcum powder safe to use when you have psoriasis of the groin, I use it all the time.?
Talc removes all the moisture from the skin and that's really the last thing you want to be doing to Psoriasis (Even if it is safe to use talc or not!) - try seeing your Dr and getting a good emollient cream or lotion. Avoid things like Aqueous cream as this should only be used as a soap substitute and not a cream so could irritate your skin.
Some studies say there is a link between some cancers of the reproductive sysyem and the use of talcum on the groin, vaginal area. I would stop using it to be safe.
No. Even ordinary bathing soaps are not advised during any skin disorder.
for some reason I have heard that talcum powder isn't safe for that area--I know this is true for women but not positive about men.
i wouldn't use talc down there and i go in bath every morning and night if you happy to go in you go in Hun
STOP USING IT NOW. Talcum powder has been found to cause ovarian cancer. Talc is also found in condoms, makes you think doesn't it. Stop using it now, save yourself.
i make hubby right.you should try to keep psoriasis dry otherwise it wont clear up.But seriously have you tried a chinese herbalist.i suffered from this affliction and after 2 visits and some some foul tasting potions i am now clear of it.

Where can I buy talcum powder (for storing my pool and covers)?

I was wondering if CVS sells it, or the Family Dollar or Walmart. I would prefer to go to CVS because it's closest to my house. Where would I find it in the store if they do have it? I need it to sprinkle on my pool for storage so it doesn't stick together.Where can I buy talcum powder (for storing my pool and covers)?
As for storage, make sure the cover is clean and dry before storing it. To prevent the vinyl from sticking to itself, cornstarch can be sprinkled on it.
