Basically, I found a few bottles of Johnson and St Luke's Prickly Heat this morning while clearing my cabinet. They have been lying around for years(4-5years?) and am wondering if they can still be used?Does talcum powder expire?
Hi Aurora,
Your talc is probably fine to use as long as it hasn't absorbed moisture. If it flows out of the container normally it probably hasn't been affected.
While we're on the subject of talc and health...
Talc has been associated with an increased incidence of ovarian cancer when used long term in the genital area. Research into this question is ongoing.Does talcum powder expire?
no.
As long as they don't have moisture lumps in them -they should be fine. The scent can fade but the powder lasts forever.Gramma found some from the 30's and it's fine. Powder is just ground talc or lime stone. It lasts forever.
As far as I know, so long as they have been kept clear of dampness %26amp; extreme heat there should be no reason why you can't still use them............
same thing happened to me, the 1 I got was started
smelling different but I use it before waxing.

I just started using baby powder again. I'm using the same powder I sprinkled on my daughter's butt when she was a baby. She is 27 years old now.
ReplyDeleteAw.... I thought I was the only one still having baby powder.... My baby's just 19yrs old now! 😅
