Is pharmaceutical talcum powder hazardous? can it be used as a food additive?

Talcum powder contains a small percentage of asbestos. which did not surprise geologists when it was discovered since Talcum deposits are near where asbestos is mined.

For years before this was known, doctors knew that talcum in surgery gloves caused adhesions, that is it makes different layers of tissues to bind together.

Talcum is used in baby powders and as a filler in tablets, why they still use it, my guess is they are idoits.

I had written the main office of the drug chain I worked for and suggested they ban buying talcum containing baby powders since powders using starch had no asbestos. The main office forwarded a letter to me from the manufacture that stated their quality control monitored the asbestos content and found none in their talcum. Is pharmaceutical talcum powder hazardous? can it be used as a food additive?
talcum powder is a calcium compound mixed with many other organic and inorganic compounds...

you ever seen what happens if you mix talcum poder and water?
