The base material is a powdered mineral called talc, Mg3Si4O10(OH2. Talc has the minimum hardness (1 as per Moho's scale of Hardness) and it cannot scratch skin, but soils it. Then perfume and different chemicals may be added to make the product attractive to buyer.How is talcum powder made?
